About Me: From Doctor to Specialist Medical Copywriter

Every health and wellbeing business needs content that people can trust. As a specialist medical copywriter, I combine clinical experience with a flair for clear communication to help organisations share their message with confidence.

My Background

Before I moved into writing, I trained and worked as a doctor in the NHS. I know what being a clinician is like, but my early career experience also gave me an insider’s understanding of healthcare systems, patients’ needs, and the importance of accuracy in communication.

To strengthen my writing skills, I completed a Diploma in Copywriting at the College of Media and Publishing, graduating with distinction. Bringing together these two worlds – medicine and communication – means I can create content that is both clinically reliable and engaging to read.

My medical training has armed me with determination and an extremely high work ethic. I work with a positive attitude and show consistent commitment to every project.

What I’ll Bring to Your Project

  • Medical insight – I understand the language of healthcare and can translate it into patient-friendly content.
  • Credibility – my clinical background reassures your audience that the information you share is accurate.
  • Clarity – I make complex information digestible, whether you’re speaking to patients, professionals, or the public.
  • Dependability – I deliver polished, ready-to-publish copy that saves you time and eases the pressure of keeping your content current.

Experience You Can Trust

I’ve written for:

  • healthtech companies creating digital tools to improve patient care
  • wellbeing brands who want to connect authentically with their customers
  • clinicians and private practices looking for patient-friendly website copy
  • organisations supporting the NHS with resources and services

Whatever the project, my goal is always the same: to craft copy that educates, reassures, and empowers your audience, while making your brand stand out.

Most of my clients are now in the health sector, but over the last decade I have crafted extensive copy in other areas including lifestyle, nutrition, fitness, parenting, wedding, home and garden. Enquiries from all sectors are welcome.

Got Questions?

Here are a few of the things people often ask me when they’re thinking about working with a specialist medical copywriter. If you’d like more detail, you’ll find a fuller list on my FAQs page.

Do you only work with big organisations?
Not at all. I work with private clinicians, small businesses, start-ups and larger healthcare organisations. Whether you need a one-off blog or ongoing content support, I can help.

Can you make sure content is SEO-friendly?
Yes – I write with both humans and search engines in mind. That means your copy is engaging and easy to read, while also optimised to help more people find you online.

How long does a project take?
It depends on the size and scope, but most projects are delivered within 1-3 weeks. I’ll always agree a timeline with you up front so you know what to expect. Some projects are one-offs, whereas other clients have been working with me regularly for several years.

How much do you charge?
My day rate starts at £475, and I always provide a detailed proposal for longer or more complex projects. Find out more about pricing and how much a freelance copywriter costs here, or ask to see a copy of my rate card.
